This study investigated assessment of digital preservation, storage, and environmental practices in selected university libraries in South west, Nigeria. The study adopted the descriptive survey design with the use of a questionnaire as the main instrument. The population of the study comprises 193 professional and para-professional staff in three selected public universities in South west Nigeria, namely the University of Ibadan, Lagos State University and Ladoke Akintola University. The study employed simple random sampling and used Taro Yamane to determine the sample size = N / (1 + N*e2). Consequently, 132 respondents formed the sample size and 116 copies were returned and found usable, giving 87% response rate. The reliability of the questionnaire items was tested at a consistency level of 71.1%. Data collected were cleaned, coded and entered into the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20 software. Frequency and percentage were used in presenting the results from the data analysed. The study found that environmental practices to aid digital preservation were mostly at the manual level and concluded that the consequences of the inadequate practices resulting in the fluctuations in environmental conditions can partly affect storage media's longevity and performance. The study recommended that the library management should consider incorporating environmental control systems to manage and regulate environmental fluctuations.
